Christmas Rag Wreath - Crafting Cafe - Bonnybridge

  • The Place to Pause & Breathe 18 High Street Bonnybridge, FK4 1DA United Kingdom (map)

Who wants to make a rag Wreath?

This is the activity for the Craft Cafe's Christmas event on Saturday 7th December 2024 from 2 - 5pm.

All you will need to provide is your material. You could use an old sheet or duvet cover, old clothes or curtains or you may want to splash out and buy some Christmas material. We have used fat quarters when we've made them in the past. You need approx 6 fat quarters for a wreath (NOTE: Hobbycraft fat quarters come in packs of 4. The Range comes in packs of 5). The size of a fat quarter is usually about 19 inches x 22 inches so you need 6 times that!

Once you've picked your material, then you cut it into strips measuring approx 6inches x 1inch. These do not have to be precise (after all its a RAG wreath - frayed edges do work). Sort your fabric out into piles............ you're good to go.

This is a free session, although donations towards the cost of keeping the centre open for the session, plus for refreshments are welcomed. Click here to book in.

This session will be held on Saturday 7th December, by Caroline - a volunteer, who will guide you through making the wreath.

Meet your facilitator:

Caroline says: "It's great what you learn whilst putting the world to rights over a cuppa and cake. Since lockdown we've talked about starting the craft cafe up again, I believe there's still lots of people who are finding it scary to go out and socialise. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and seeing different crafts."

Caroline has been a member of the Pause & Breathe community for the last few years, she is a keen crafter and sells the cards she makes at Craft Fairs and Markets.
