Overdose Awareness and Naloxone Training

  • The Place to Pause & Breathe 18 High Street Bonnybridge, FK4 1DA United Kingdom (map)

This session is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge, skills and confidence in what to do in an overdose situation. Learning how to respond to an overdose ahead of time is crucial, as every second counts in an emergency. Knowing the signs of an overdose and being prepared to act quickly can make the

difference between life and death. Understanding how to administer naloxone, whether through a nasal spray or injection, empowers individuals to confidently and effectively intervene. By familiarising yourself with the steps involved in using different naloxone products, you can ensure that you are ready to save a life when it matters most.

Learning outcomes:

Participants will be aware of the nature & extent of drug overdose in Scotland, recognise their role in preventing drug related deaths, identify the most common drugs involved in an overdose and the main causes of an overdose, recognise the signs and symptoms of an overdose. They will be able to highlight effective interventions – busting myths, understand the role of Naloxone and Basic Life Saving Skills.

This takes place on Friday 7th February 10-11.30am. Hot drinks and snacks will be available in the session. Please bring a donation for the session if you can - this is to cover the running costs. Caroline is kindly volunteering her time to hold this. Click here to book in.
